About Concordia University IEEE
If you an Electrical Engineering student, then the IEEE Concordia student branch is home away from home!
We are the only organization at Concordia University that caters specifically to the needs of the school’s electrical engineering students.
What do we do at IEEE Concordia, you may ask? Here’s a short list:
- We represent, and serve the needs of, the electrical engineering students at Concordia. This means that we organize both social and academic events that encourage students to learn more about engineering, and to get some practical (hands-on) experience.
- As part of our McNaughton Learning Center, we have extensive resources to help you broaden your electrical engineering knowledge and skills.
- We provide a fully equiped lab, where students can work on independent projects.
- There is a huge exam bank of past midterms and finals for most ELEC classes.
- Being a part of IEEE is a great way to build a network of contacts that can be usefull in academia and in industry.
Getting involved with the Concordia University IEEE student branch is also an excellent way of learning leadership and organizational skills!

IEEE Societies
When you become an IEEE member, you have the option of joining one or more societies. These societies are targeted to specific areas of electrical engineering, and are the best source of information on these specific topics in the world. For the additional cost of being a society member, you gain special privileges with that society. These vary from society to society, but usually include copies of their publications and access to the latest research in that field. For a complete list of societies which you can join when you become an IEEE member, please visit IEEE.org’s societies webpage.
