IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems. And with a common space that brings together Montréal Xtremers from all our universities, free food, our own leaderboard, and prizes specially for our local teams, IEEE Xtreme in Montréal is its own unique event!
This event is organized by IEEE; IEEE Concordia recruits and supports team with practice sessions, food and/or space during the competition. We also contribute to the Montréal-wide IEEE Xtreme planning.
To enter, you must be an IEEE Student member or IEEE Graduate Student member (find out more). Note that this is membership with the global IEEE organisation, not with IEEE Concordia.
When & Where
This competition is held every year in October, from 8:00 pm on a Friday to 8:00 pm the next Saturday, Montréal time (or midnight to midnight UTC).
IEEE Xtreme is an international competition that happens online: usually, you’re expected to find space with your team and Proctor on your own. However, Montréal’s IEEE Student Branches have banded together to organize a space, food, leaderboard and prizes just for Montréal IEEE Xtremers! We strongly encourage participating teams to come to the Montréal Xtreme space, usually at one of the participating Student Branch’s Universities—competing in a room full of other teams is an intense, completely different experience!
You can also contact our Director of Competitions for more information, or if you are interested in participating. No team yet? No problem! We’ll help you find one.
Collaborators & Sponsors
We would like to thank the IEEE Montréal Section for their support toward the IEEE Xtreme Montréal event. We would also like to acknowledge our collaborators from other Montréal universities, without whom the unique local Xtreme event could not happen.
Our collaborators may vary from year to year.
