MouseBot update: parts received, draft manual available

Posted in: Projects | 0

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for your continued interest in the MouseBot project.

The parts order has just arrived! We are currently waiting on the motors, solar cells and casters, as the motors are back-ordered. All the other parts are here.

The draft instruction manual has been written and is currently being edited by several other IEEE members. If you would like to see it in its current form, it can be found on the MouseBot Project page. Please note it is provisional and subject to change.

The final version of the schematic, for those of you who want to dive right in, is available here (click to expand):

A full explanation can be found in the manual.

As soon as the final parts arrive, we will be assembling a test circuit on solderless breadboard to ensure everything works; stay tuned for the exact date and time.

Finally, we have a bit of a puzzler for you all. The MouseBot kits will come with a printed circuit board, to ease assembly. See if you can find a way to route a wire from point 1 to point 2 in the following image (click to expand), without your wire crossing any existing wires.
